"Agricultural Engineering in Support of the Kyoto Protocol - Clean Development Mechanism for Biogas Technology" report is available now

The "Agricultural Engineering in Support of the Kyoto Protocol - Clean Development Mechanism for Biogas Technology" report is available now. With the success of "International Seminar on Biogas Technology" last year, APCAEM conducted the pilot study for the application of the CDM facility from large scale industrial biogas plants to small household type digesters, and summarized the technical, policy and institutional issues involved in the application of CDM in the Asian and Pacific region. This report presents the scope existing in Asian and  the Pacific countries for CDM applications.

The report consists of the following:

2. Identify the potential in Asia for expanding biogas and the application of CDM at three different levels, and its potential contribution to the Kyoto protocol;
3. Address the issues involved in the application of CDM at three different scales of operation related to CDM methodological guidance, policy, legal framework, technical and institutional aspects;
4. Assess the issues involved in availing of Community Development Carbon Fund (CDCF) of the World Bank, and approval of an Emission Reductions Purchase Agreement (ERPA).
