ANTAM Testing Code for Power Tillers updated at Technical Working Group Consultations

photoFollowing the consultations held informally in 2020-21 due to the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Power Tillers of the Asian and Pacific Network for Testing of Agricultural Machinery (ANTAM) was reconvened upon receipt by CSAM of the nominations of twenty technical experts from sixteen member countries. The TWG members met online on 19 and 28 October, as well as 25 November 2022, to review proposed edits and updates to the Standard Code for Power Tillers (001-2018).

The TWG elected Ms. Marie Jehosa Reyes and Mr. Mark Twain Limbo from the Philippines as Co-Chairs, and discussed the proposed edits to the code and the annexed equipment list with the support of Mr. Sandro Liberatori, representing the ANTAM Technical Reference Unit, as well as CSAM in its role as ANTAM Secretariat. Noting that some test items are common to all ANTAM Codes, the experts considered the possibility of a joint discussion with the other TWGs on these, as well as on the inclusion of new test items, for instance on fumes. For this purpose, the TWG will convene again in January 2023 also with the objective of agreeing on how to present the updated code and any consolidation proposals to the 9th ANTAM Annual Meeting.
