Dr. Adrianus G. Rijk, Director of APCAEM made a courtesy call to the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), focal point of APCAEM in China 23 May, 2005. He had a friendly discussion with Prof. XU Kuangdi, Vice Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference of China and President of CAE.

The Director introduced to the President the project profiles in the fields of environment, Conservation Agriculture and agro-Industry. Prof. Xu also noted other interesting fields such as rural energy, water utilization in dry North China and fresh fruit storage.

The President expressed his welcome to the Director and hoped a lasting friendship and cooperation between APCAEM and CAE through joint efforts.
