Following the complete success of seven expositions in fruit/vegetable processing technology and food since 1999, the Eighth International Fruit/Vegetable/Food Exposition (F/V/F Expo’ 2006) will be held in Yantai, a beautiful port city of China in Shandong Province, from 23 to 26 September 2006.
Jointly sponsored by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Asian and Pacific Centre for Agricultural Engineering and Machinery (APCAEM), the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Shandong Provincial Government of China, the annual international event in agricultural post-harvest processing technology has become a flagship project of cooperation between UNESCAP and the Chinese Government.
The theme of the exposition is for green eternity. A total of 600 international standard booths will be set up for participants to display their exhibits, including fine fruit/vegetable seeds/seedlings, cultivation technology and equipments, gardening facilities, harvesting and freshness-preserving storage equipment, processing technology and equipments including fresh and processed fruit/vegetable products, packing materials and equipment, food products (dairy, meat, bean, seasoning, canned food, quick-frozen food), pesticide-free products/technology, food machinery, farm machinery and agricultural production materials, tea, flowers, and accomplishments of science & technology in the field of fruit & vegetable.
During the exposition, various activities/ events will be held, including lectures on rural applied technology, face to face dialogue between exhibitors & purchasers, promotion of unique products, online exposition, briefings on investment & cooperation projects, evaluation on quality exhibits, fruits trading, seeds trading,and production site tours.
