On March 29, 2023, The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in China, held a UN Orientation Session with the participation of over 50 staff joining both online and on-site at the UN Compound. The UN Orientation Session was supported by guest speakers from multiple agencies of the United Nations in China and the UN Operations Management Team (UNOMT) with the aim of promoting communication among new colleagues and a better understanding of the United Nations agencies in China.

During the Orientation Session, guest speakers shared informative ideas on a wide range of essential topics covering an introduction to the UN, gender empowerment, climate action, reproductive rights, sustainable agricultural mechanization, and poverty reduction. Participating online on behalf of ESCAP-CSAM, Mr. Marco Silvestri delivered remarks to introduce the history, mandate, and mission of CSAM as well as a brief overview of ESCAP, and he also highlighted the key initiatives and recent results of CSAM's work and its collaboration with the UN Country Team in China.
