On 10th September, 2020, the 2nd China-Philippines Forum for Agricultural Investment Cooperation was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. With a theme of “Promoting Investment in Philippines based on Governments’ Bilateral Cooperation”, the China-Philippines Forum is aimed to serve as an exchange and dialogue platform for the stakeholders in both the public and private sectors in China and the Philippines.
The representatives of the Philippines introduced the encouraging policies and favorable commercial environment for foreign investment in the Filipino agriculture sector, while Chinese enterprise representatives briefed the successful investment experiences and practices in Philippines. Discussions were conducted to share insights in agricultural development, and to explore collaboration opportunities in China and the Philippines in the future.
Representing the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanizaiton of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP-CSAM), Mr. Marco Silvestri attended the China-Philippines Forum and shared how the regional initiatives of the Centre facilitate the regional collaboration thus supporting also bilateral exchanges.
The China-Philippines Forum for Agricultural Investment Cooperation was sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and organized by the Foreign Economic Cooperation Centre of MARA and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Fujian Province.
